Paris, widow of Conductor Celibidache (q.v.) (B. Romania)
Robbed:
“Nowadays I am allowed at least to return to my country,
where I live several months a year. All I have left is a bed-sit
of just 21 sq metres (210 sq feet) because the State through
its representatives of 40 years past had abusively expropriated
everything that belonged to my father. Just as properties were
returned in all of Romania’s neighbouring countries so
am I waiting for my possessions to be returned to me, as a rightful
owner, whom I was literally robbed by the State”.
Biography:
Ioana Celibidache is a Romanian-born
painter of the Ecole de Paris, who settled in France since 1946.
She is the widow of Conductor and composer Sergiu Celibidache.
